Forshaw Demolition and Ainscough pics

Finally, something of my own to post for a change.... Walter Forshaw Demolition machines and Ainscough at Birch - always worth a photo or twelve... Maybe someone else can fill-in the crane details.

WELDEX at Mostyn

Not that recent, but following on from Tim's recent visit to the Port of Mostyn the Liebherr LR11350 belonging to Weldex. The Liebherr is being used to load out pile bases for a new offshore windfarm.

Ably assisting the Liebherr is another new crane to the Weldex fleet, a Kobelco SL6000, 600t capacity crawler.

A couple of weeks ago I spent the day with JC Balls from Ambergate in Derbyshire for a feature in Earthmovers magazine. Here are a couple of photos from the days photoshoot.

Air Product's largest-ever cold box

Photographed squeezing under Christleton Bridge near Chester on its way to Ellesmere Port. SC Transport Scania had stills incase trailer had to be re-rigged to get under bridge. Load would have been set on these and then re-loaded, but this wasn't necessary as it managed to creep under.

Mostyn Dock, Flintshire, North Wales

I managed to get a guided tour of the offshore windfarm build site at Mostyn Quay. Brande Maskin Transport and Weldex Cranes were doing the work. It was awesome to see the crawler cranes up close.

Air Products again

Another weekend, another AP move. This weekend saw the biggest box to come out of the Air Products factory in Acrefair, Wrexham.

Statistics: 59mx6.25mx5.30m and weighing a staggering 247,500kg. Slow going was the order of the day!

Utrecht pull-out.

Lots of rain but got some good shots. It wouldn't be right to not mention Dave's incident where he thought I'd moved the car at the petrol station near the airport...he almost got in to another person's car - he was face to face with a Borat lookalike wondering who the Englishman was who was climbing in his car....Possibly the highlight of the trip if you ask Andrew who was close to tears he was laughing so much...
